Join your host Sharon Lawton for another Coaching Conversation with Helen Dando, coach, trainer and neurodiversity specialist, and associate trainer at The Coaching Academy, where she delivers our Coaching Neurodivergent Clients CPD programme.

How can we create a coaching space where each client feels understood and supported to work in a way that suits them? Join us to explore what a neuro-affirming approach means in practice, and how curiosity about a client’s strengths, preferences and experiences can help us recognise and reduce barriers. Whether you are new to this topic or looking to develop your practice, this conversation will invite you to reflect on your assumptions and consider practical ways to make your coaching more inclusive.

In this Coaching Conversation, we will explore:
• What neurodiversity means for coaches, and how to approach individual differences with curiosity, respectful language and a focus on strengths.

• How communication preferences and sensory needs can shape a client’s experience, and what to ask rather than assume.

• Practical ways to adapt contracting, questioning and the coaching environment in partnership with each client.

In this session, Helen will draw on her coaching and training experience, alongside her lived experience as a neurodivergent person, to explore a strengths-based, collaborative approach. Together, we will consider a useful starting question for your own practice: “What would help you get the most from our sessions?”
