Empowering growth through executive & team coaching

In this week's blog we are catching up with our graduate coach, Lorene Phillips. Transforming Challenges into Breakthroughs

What excites me most is the ability to remove obstacles for my clients that once seemed immovable. Whether it's guiding corporate executives through high-stakes decision-making, helping teams and individuals pivot in response to change or assisting “Gen Z-ers” in entering unfamiliar industries, the transformation is remarkable. Witnessing that moment of realization and empowerment is what makes coaching more than just a job - it’s truly a passion.

The most rewarding lesson I’ve learned is that coaching doesn’t have to fit into a single mold. Earning my Coaching Academy Diploma helped reveal doors beyond traditional coaching - I host a radio show guiding career shifters, the ‘Coaching to Win!’ podcast to educate and inspire clients about the power of coaching, and The Huddle, a philanthropic panel where future leaders gain invaluable insights from experts. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of delivering keynote speeches worldwide, further expanding the reach and impact of coaching. By challenging preconceived notions of what coaching “should” be, I’ve been able to adapt, connect with people in unexpected ways, and create truly transformative change - for both my clients and myself.

Training with The Coaching Academy was truly instrumental in shaping my approach, particularly in today’s ever-evolving business landscape. A breakthrough moment for me was realizing that coaching is inherently future-focused - guiding clients toward where they want to be next, rather than simply addressing present challenges. This perspective has allowed me to strategically position individuals, teams and organizations by creating bespoke solutions that are both dynamic and transformative - seamlessly ensuring lasting impact and adaptability in an ever-changing world.

Driving Transformational Results

I wear many hats as a coach, but at my core, I am an Executive Performance Coach. My work spans industries - from corporate leadership and keynote speaking through Clarendon Wallace to hospitality etiquette training as a presenter for the Bermuda School of Etiquette - always with the goal of driving transformational results. Titles aside, my primary focus is empowering organizations, teams and individuals, regardless of industry or status, to perform at their highest potential.

The feedback I receive often centres on the clarity and confidence clients gain through coaching. Many express gratitude for a renewed sense of purpose and the ability to apply practical tools almost immediately to overcome obstacles - whether navigating career transitions, stepping into leadership, or strengthening team dynamics. Overall, hearing how these insights continue to shape their professional and personal growth is incredibly rewarding. One client put it best: “…the sessions were hands-down the highlight of my year.  I previously avoided presenting at all costs for various reasons, but now I can overcome my fear. This revelation was epic for me.”

Cultivating Tomorrow’s Inclusive & Collaborative Leaders

Whilst I operate across various coaching specialisms, my primary focus at this time is: Team Coaching and Facilitation. This approach has the power to transform organizations by fostering collaboration, accountability and performance excellence - creating a ripple effect that strengthens them from the inside out. Whether supporting C-suite executives or multi-generational teams in today’s workplace, my goal is to cultivate a culture of collaboration, unlock potential, bridge gaps and inspire lasting change!

I am particularly passionate about the intersection of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and preparing the next generation of leaders. It’s crucial to equip underrepresented talent with the skills and confidence to break through systemic barriers and truly incite change - regardless of industry or title. Coaching should play a pivotal role in ensuring diverse professionals have access to mentorship, resources and opportunities - support I am committed to providing and facilitating. By investing early, we can build a future where leadership truly reflects the diverse world we live in.

Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

I see the future of coaching becoming more inclusive and accessible. Coaching should not be a privilege reserved for only the elite - it should be available to anyone seeking growth and direction. Whether it’s executive coaching or foundational skill-building, these tools should be widely available to help individuals forge new paths. This is why I created The Huddle, a free-access panel series featuring a diverse range of experts for next generation leaders, and why I remain committed to driving this shift with the ‘Coaching to Win!” Podcast so people can be educated by those that ‘sound like them’. My goal is to make coaching more accessible, ensuring it reaches those who need it most and empowering individuals to unlock opportunities they never imagined possible!
