The value of coaching

I’m a Holistic Life Design Coach and Yoga Teacher and I support professionals and new entrepreneurs to create their dream life and overcome the challenges they are facing. The clients that I work with vary from the stuck professional unhappy with where their life is, feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, accepting and managing their neurodiversity to helping new yoga teachers in building their unique business.

Throughout my 40 years around the sun, I’ve faced many struggles across my career, relationships and business, and have thus worked through many life lessons. What I realised in the earlier years of setting up my business was how unstable my foundations were to build a healthy business and relationship upon. A strong and stable foundation starts with yourself. In knowing who you truly are, understanding what you really need from yourself and others.

Although not officially diagnosed, I resonate with ADHD struggles and the impact the difficulties have physically, mentally and emotionally. So discovering this truth about myself has been a big revelation for me so that I can not only accept who I am, but to truly love all parts of my being. Imagine the impact that can have on how you show up in the world?

Yoga and other holistic tools became an integral part of my toolbox that I was able to draw upon alongside my coaching awareness. It’s pretty incredible how our inner environment connects and influences our outer world, and vice versa!

Fostering personal growth with a holistic approach

Since qualifying as a Personal and Business Coach with The Coaching Academy, I pursued a yoga teacher qualification in Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative Yoga. I’ve dived deep into yoga philosophies and human design which I now offer to be integrated into coaching packages so that individuals can explore how to manage their energy and design their life as they wish it to be.  I cannot describe the elation I feel when I see people build out their dream life, to help them find ease in their life and a sense of freedom and release. It is my mission for all to live in a fairer world where they have the opportunity to see all perspectives, to build a healthy belief system which enables their dream life to unfold.

I integrate a heart-led and holistic approach into coaching sessions. This can be through breathwork, calming an overwhelmed mindset, helping your awareness to shift into the body, becoming more mindful of your mind-body connection. When we become more mindful of the inner environment, we can learn to explore what our body, our heart is trying to communicate with us.

Building a healthy belief system

There’s an unwritten assumption that we learn a healthy belief system in our childhood years to see the world in its most perfect form. But the truth is we don’t, and that’s quite often not the case for many and also not necessarily the fault of our parents and guardians. How can your parents/ guardians teach you something perhaps they didn’t learn themselves? It may be hard to hear, and feel unjust, but they can only teach what you know. As adults, it's up to ourselves to take the responsibility of healing the trauma we may have faced in earlier years.

When you don’t have the foundations of a healthy beliefs system, this impacts the decisions that you make and don’t make. Isn’t that the beauty of coaching awareness? To create awareness in the moment. So, imagine, how powerful it can be to feel into your inner environment, exploring the inner sensations of how to feel when a belief system is healthy and not healthy?

Redesigning ‘me’ first

I graduated with a life coaching and Business Coaching qualification which fitted really well with my background in Finance.   Whilst starting my business, Sinéad Robertson Coaching, I was also starting my journey in Yoga and so the earlier years became a period of self-discovery; redesigning who I am and my true personality.

I am currently building out my dream of creating a spiritual space through yoga classes, personal development workshops and a retreat space. I have a range of workshops that I’ve been delivering; how to visualise, how to build your dream life, and the science of why we need to rest.   I see my achievements through the transformation of my clients also; seeing them make happier and healthier choices; building out business and lifestyles that they truly love and providing them with freedom.

I would like to offer what I do for all individuals irrespective of their financial background and location.  I’m working on seeking out grants and collaborations, and organisations to integrate the learnings as part of their wellbeing programmes, and to build out and offer an online version of the current workshops that I offer in person.

My longer-term goal is to create a safe space where all people can explore and develop their individuality (whether personally or business) in one location. A space which through movement, creativity, awareness, and connection, they can build their authentic path.

Top insights from my coaching niche:

  • There is incredible power and movement within stillness and rest. Plant your seed and watch them grow! Sometimes resilience and a working hard mentality can hinder your overall productivity as you miss out on the opportunity to see a fuller perspective and create space for new thinking to enter. This is one lesson I found the hardest with a strongly rooted belief that success was a direct result of working hard. In Yoga, I teach the importance of rest from one pose to the next and be mindful of the transitions.
  • Not knowing how to do something or liking something is an opportunity to learn something new that you may end up loving: There’s a saying in Yoga that the style and poses that you don’t like are often the ones we need. It’s part of the nervous system craving security, feeling comfortable. I teach my Yoga students to break a pose down; building the confidence to practice Yoga on and off the mat. When I first set up my business, I procrastinated in setting up my website as I didn’t know where to start, now I’m obsessed!
  • Our belief system is woven into a web of life that connects us all: Influencing how our energy flows along our energetic pathways (meridians); how our connecting tissues; nervous system and organs behave. The more you can feel this in your body, the more empowered you can be to take action in your life.

Coaching is an incredible tool to raise awareness of your personal perspectives in life. If you can see life experiences and challenges from different perspectives, it will only add value to your relationships in all parts of your life.
