I researched online for coaching and came across TCA. I went for TCA’s Free 2-Days in November and committed to the PDP and Corporate programme. It was vital that I felt the right fit for The Academy as much as I was for them. This was a huge investment of time, commitment and money to this venture. The main reason I chose to embark with TCA was because the coaches leading the weekend were so inspiring; and I knew something was missing in my life and this was going to be that ‘lightbulb moment’ where things would change. I felt I trusted the programme and I was inspired by Bev James when I researched TCA.
What did you find most interesting to learn?
The most interesting part of coaching for me is seeing the change it can bring to people who have had their moment and want to change but have no idea what that looks like. As a coach, I am that poignant part in the start of their journey through exploring their purpose, vision, values and mission.
What was the most rewarding part of your journey?
The most rewarding part of the journey was receiving my letter through to say I had passed with a Distinction. I am not suggesting you have to be the best of the best, however for me one of my goals was to qualify with a distinction.
Which bits did you enjoy the most?
The most enjoyable part of the journey was the coaching sessions I conducted with clients. Getting feedback and feeling I was improving step by step against the learnings and areas of actions I had to complete.
How did the qualification slot in with your current life?
It can be challenging slotting this into your life, however the positives are a massive motivator and knowing my end goal kept me focused… “Begin with the end in mind” - Stephen Covey
How are you using your coaching skills? And….. What is your coaching niche and why did you choose it?
Since qualifying I have registered my business as a Confidence Coach predominantly in the fitness environment where my passion lies. Last year I set a goal to do a fitness photo shoot as I had always been unhappy with the way I looked. I found a coach and stuck to the plan and my actions tenaciously. Where I am so confident as a leader in my profession, I have recognised so many individuals do not achieve their goals due to a lack of confidence. I want to help others on a mass scale recognise their potential, believe in themselves and achieve their goals in life. I have my own business mentor who is a pivotal part of my journey in achieving my goals quicker. I also am a superb networker within my profession and have transferred these skills to my own business. On 8th March, I attended an event hosted by Colonel Dame Kelly Holmes where I had the opportunity to meet Bev James, CEO of TCA who with Kris Robertson delivered a fantastic session.
What is the best thing that could happen to your coaching business in the next 2 years?
The best thing that could happen in the next two years is that I have a scaled up business coaching full time and making a difference to people’s lives. I will also be a qualified corporate coach and exploring further learning as a way of life to improve myself every day.

People who are looking at coaching?
Coaching is an investment in you. You have to want to do it.
Those coaches currently in training?
Don’t the things you keep putting off. Procrastination was my biggest downfall.
Every time you finish an accelerator day or module complete the learning records.
Always practise coaching and building a network.
Coaches that are about to qualify?
This is the start of the journey. Keep practising as much as you can to perfect your craft. You will learn something from everything you do.
People that are in a similar situation to yourself?
Never let anyone tell you that you cannot do something. Ensure you have a coach.
