It's holiday season! We hope you are planning a great get-away to refresh and re-focus! While you're thinking of possible summer destinations, it's a good time to reveal one particular destination that you should definitely try to avoid - Someday Isle.
It’s likely that most people, at some point in their lives have taken a little holiday to Someday Isle. Okay, so it’s not strictly a place but it is a destination that isn’t particularly ideal for a long term stay.
Have you ever heard yourself say, “someday I’ll read that book… , take that course… , forgive the people who’ve hurt me… , get fit… , get a new job ... , get out of debt… or start working on my business idea… etc”? If so, then you have found the imaginary place of Someday Isle, it’s a mindset where you dreamily think about your goals and what you would like for your life but you do not actually take any actions or steps towards achieving your desires.
If this is a place you visit regularly then you probably visit it because it’s comfortable and familiar. The problem with that is that you get used to this stable and safe place where nothing exciting happens but you drift along thinking about that someday when you do the thing you’ve always thought about. The reality is that someday never comes!
Getting off Someday Isle will help you get what you truly want for your life and set you on the path to success. It will keep your goals in mind, excitement and motivation levels up and eliminate the excuses that hold you back. In the words of Brian Tracy, vote yourself off the Island if you want to be successful.
Stop waiting for 'someday' to arrive and take small steps to row your boat away from Someday Isle and towards living the life of your dreams instead. So what are you waiting for?
