Self-image is the mental picture we have of ourselves, simply put itís our own opinion and view of who we are. This internal image is often a combination of our physical attributes, such as our height, weight, hair colour, etc., as well as the parts of our identity that we have learned. These learnt factors can consist of attributes that have discovered ourselves through personal experiences or by internalising the judgments of others.

Lucy has been struggling with a poor self-image for the past six years. She felt unattractive and strongly believed that men didnít find her sexy. She had a successful career as a management consultant but could not stop feeling bad about herself. Through our sessions, we discovered that Lucy had a younger sister. This younger sister was the pretty one, the one who got all the boys, according to Lucy.
