The GROW (Goal, Reality, Options, Will/Way forward) model is the most common and widely used coaching tool. It enables the coach to structure a coaching conversation and deliver a meaningful result logically and effectively. GROW needs to be practised but once mastered is incredibly adaptable to many different coaching styles and scenarios.

We often hear people claim that they “don’t believe in having regrets”. Yet, whether they care to admit it or not, absolutely everyone has to deal with regrets at various points in their lives. Regrets come in an infinite number of shapes and sizes, from minor ones, like making an error at work, to big, life-changing regrets - such as not taking a job, or moving somewhere new, or ending a relationship.

The topic of personal growth really resonates with me because as a coach I want to be congruent when coaching others, either individually or in groups. If I am asking my client to step outside their comfort zone, I too want to experience what that is like. The coaching relationship is co-created: your coaching identity grows as your client learns and grows.

Life is a dynamic dialogue between me and the external world and I have had this animated relationship with 'Change' ever since I entered adulthood. While certain big changes in my earlier life, like moving to live independently in a big city to start my banking career with Citibank. More recently in 2009, I experienced certain unexpected changes which were negative on the outset, however in retrospect triggered the best out of me!
