Sylwia Zuber - I found my inner calling

The Coaching Academy Blog

Posted: October 2018

I needed something more than spending 9 hours in the office every day - I craved more challenges and variety in my life.

I was really into personal development and wanted to realise my full potential and also help other people do the same. I was searching for different possibilities, and by chance I came across The Coaching Academy’s Free Introduction to Life Coaching Webinar. This was the answer I was looking for! I attended this course and after listening to all those passionate and professional coaches, I decided that I would like to do the same, so I enrolled on TCA’s Life Coaching Diploma.

What was/is your profession before becoming a coach?

I was an English teacher and then Operations Associate, which was a typical office work connected with customer service.

What was the most rewarding part of your training/journey?

The whole journey with The Coaching Academy was an amazing experience. I liked Accelerator days, webinars, mentoring sessions. Everything was interactive and interesting. I gained a lot of knowledge which I use in my life and I also met many inspiring people. The best feeling though was when I received my diploma with a distinction, because this was my aim from the beginning of my training and I achieved it!

How did you fit coach training into your busy life?

To be fair, after spending the whole day at work the only thing you need is rest. But I was highly motivated to complete my coaching course as soon as I could. I knew the reason why I wanted this and there was no lenient treatment. I set a time frame for completing the course and started to prioritise my activities. Then I stuck to my plan and there were no excuses.

Where are you now? How are you using your coaching skills?

I am self-employed now and I give coaching sessions to individuals, who want to take life in their hands and be more proactive. I use my coaching skills during one-on-one coaching sessions to empower my clients, and to stimulate them in a way they could find more possibilities to achieve their goals. I also use these skills on myself. As a coach, I have to give a good example to my coachees, so I have clear goals and an action plan to follow. Moreover, in this business it is important to constantly develop yourself and your coaching skills, so I read a lot on personal development and attend many workshops and trainings.

What is your coaching niche and why did you choose it?

I work with adults who want to find their inner strength and become more confident, assertive and more communicative. I picked this niche mainly because I noticed that many people have problems with clear and concrete expression of their point of view or needs. Nowadays, confidence is crucial if you want to find a better job or get better results at work or in your private life. Being confident and assertive enables us to gain success and satisfaction.
