We all know people who are confident. They seem to face challenges head on and with a level of calm. Confidence is not something we are born with, it is shaped by experiences from childhood to adulthood. No one can build your confidence for you but the good news is that it is a constantly evolving state of being that you can build up over time.

Confidence is a constantly evolving state of being. We might feel amazingly confident in one aspect of our lives but have a crippling fear in another.
No one can build your confidence for you but the good news is that confidence is often about how you percieve yourself and you can build up this belief over time. It might seem like a daunting task if you really believe you lack confidence but imagine the freedom you will feel whn you have that sense of self-assurance and the bravery to accept challenges and step out of your comfort zone.
self esteem is the foundation on which your confidence is built. It is how you evaluate your worth and if you don't hold yourself in high regard then you won't behave confidently.
If you suspect you have a low self-esteem then check where this could be coming from. For example:
The clearer you are about your self esteem the better you can learn to take care of yourself and think more deeply about why you feel they way you do.
What do you have control over that you can change? Can you work on overcoming negative thinking and self sabotage?
We all have a little voice in our heads that only knows how to say negative things. You have control over your inner critic so convert the negative into a positive. For example, "I'm so stupid" becomes "okay, i've made a mistake but next time i won't do the same thing".
Can you eliminate or remove yourself from people who lower your self esteem?
Create a vision board or a poster that details your achievements and proudest moments. They are there and a physical reminder of your accomplishments could do wonders for your sef esteem. Include anything you accomplished that could make you feel good, a school report from your head girl / boy days, a certificate achieved, an email of praise from your boss, pictures of the people you love and who love you.
It's always good to take stock of our proudest moments and give ourselves a pat on the back!
One of the most effective ways to build self confidence is by mastering a new or existing skill. The more often that you experience success in personal or professional development, the more self confidence you will gain - simple right?
When you prove to yourself that you have the ability to master a skill then you will naturally see failures and set backs as not necessarily your fault, you will learn to be not so hard on yourself.
Break down the task of mastering a new or existing skill into small chunks. These will be your stepping stones to success!
