This week's Coach in the Spotlight is Anna Filatova a business and success coach who switched to coaching after a demanding job in investment banking and reignited her passion for entrepreneurship. Enjoy her inspiring story!

"I felt excited, full of energy and like nothing could stop me. Coaching helped me to develop as a person and become more patient and a much better listener."

What brought you to coaching?

I used to mentor people in my first career in Hotel Management and it was the most enjoyable part of my job. As I learnt more about personal development and different interventions I also came across coaching. Years later when I was in a different industry, I felt that something was missing so I decided to go back to exploring what coaching was all about.

That’s when I came across The Coaching Academy and Introduction to Life Coaching. Even though I spent both days learning about coaching, I knew after the first hour that it was something I wanted to pursue. I completed the Personal Performance Diploma earlier this year and I’m planning to submit the Corporate and Executive Coaching Diploma shortly.

As I also work with small businesses, my next step is to sign up for the Small Business Coaching Diploma early next year.

Most people become a coach to change the lives of others… How has coaching benefited your own life?

Since I’ve signed up to The Coaching Academy and started my coaching journey I could feel something was changing.

I felt excited, full of energy and like nothing could stop me. Coaching helped me to develop as a person and become more patient and a much better listener.

I also started using some coaching skills in conversations with others at work, without people even knowing it. Seeing the results my colleagues and clients were getting, I knew that it was the right time for me to pursue my dream of becoming an entrepreneur.

This is when Dreams and Beyond Coaching was born. Using my previous experience, knowledge and skills, I now help female entrepreneurs, business owners and CEOs of small businesses to grow their businesses and thrive not only professionally but also personally.

How did the qualification slot in with your busy life?

My life was already pretty packed with a quite demanding job in Investment Banking and other commitments when I decided to become a coach. Luckily, the Coaching Academy offers a great schedule that fitted well into my busy life. I was able to go at my own pace and study coaching in the evenings and over the weekends.

"I struggled at the beginning as I was worried that I was going to make the wrong choice with my niche. Then when I stopped thinking about it and looked back at my previous experiences in Hotel Management and Investment Banking it became clear."

What was the most rewarding part of your Coaching journey?

The most rewarding part of my coaching journey was meeting a lot of incredible people and fantastic mentors and training facilitators. I could feel the support and encouragement every step of my journey.

I was also lucky enough to meet an amazing TCA student Marta Kiermacz-Abramek, now my friend and business partner, at the very first TCA Accelerator day. Learning and supporting each other is one of the best ways to move successfully forward when it comes to a coaching career.

How did you choose your coaching niche?

We always hear: let your niche find you and that’s certainly the case here. I struggled at the beginning as I was worried that I was going to make the wrong choice with my niche. Then when I stopped thinking about it and looked back at my previous experiences in Hotel Management and Investment Banking it became clear.

I was interested in personal and professional development and entrepreneurship since I was 14. I did my Bachelor in International Hotel Management because back then I wanted to run my own hotel and then completed my MBA for Executive for Global Perspective that was heavily focused on leadership and entrepreneurship. After all, I knew that was what I was passionate about.

I now have the privilege to work with the most amazing and highly driven entrepreneurs, business owners and CEOs. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing them succeed in both business and their personal lives.

Tell us about the work you do! How are you using your coaching skills?

As a Business and Success Coach, I help my clients not only grow their businesses but I also make sure that they have the right mindset that is set for success and that they don’t reach the point of burnout. If you want to be successful in business, it’s essential to take care of yourself first and create a lifestyle and habits that will help you to thrive both personally and professionally.

What would you say to someone thinking of enrolling with The Coaching Academy?

To those who are thinking of enrolling with the Coaching Academy, I say: stop procrastinating and go for it. The Coaching Academy offers the best coaching training that is currently available on the market. No matter what career you choose after, the skills and experience that you gain during your coaching journey will help you in many different areas of your life.

What are your top tips for those currently in training with TCA?

My top tips for those currently in training with TCA would be to go at your own pace. Everyone is different and it is important that you make the most of it. Reach out to other coaches and mentors for support. The great thing about TCA is the community and the connections that you make during your studies will help you move forward more efficiently.
