Edward Jospe - Coaching for your future

The Coaching Academy Blog

Posted: April 2021

This week's Coach in the Spotlight is Edward Jospe, who started his coaching journey after a career change. Today Edward helps others not only as a coach but also as a community leader within the TCA students group. Enjoy his inspiring story!

What brought you to coaching?

My family has always been interested in therapy of one kind or another; my parents were very involved with the C Yung London Club and then my lovely wife Marianne became a Psycho Dynamic Therapist & Counselor. When it came for me to make some changes and chose a new career, it was a logical step for me to follow.

How has coaching benefited your own life?

It has brought focus, energy and most of all a plan for the future which is why my tag line is "Coaching for your future".

What was the most rewarding part of your Coaching journey?

The diploma itself was the reward for me and it was made especially gratifying as my journey was not entirely smooth. My first few assessments did not go well but despite these setbacks, or perhaps because of them, I became a better coach. It took me 3 years but I was determined to qualify. I met some amazing people along the way who are part of my success.

How did you choose your coaching niche?

I have not yet chosen a niche. This will become clearer eventually.

Tell us about the work you do! How are you using your coaching skills?

I am currently on the path to ACC level ICF accreditation and I am also coaching and being coached. My target is to get to a coaching rythm capable of sustaining £50,000 worth of revenue by this time next year.

What would you say to someone thinking of enrolling with The Coaching Academy?

You have to be the kind of person who listens, who fundamentally wants to help people and does not judge. If you can be completely impartial and curious at the same time, then Life-Coaching is for you. The TCA will teach you how to transform these basic tenents into a wonderful skill. You will not regret it.

What are your top tips for those currently in training with TCA?

In no particular order:

Go with the flow.

Start looking at the final essay earlier rather than at the end.

Get coached while you are coaching.

Share your questions, concerns and successes with other students on the FB group.

Join or create a local group of coaches. Covid-19 will end and we will be able to meet in person again soon!

Who do you want to be when lockdown is over?

Would you like to make a positive and lasting difference to others, just like Edward does? Would you like to have a coaching business you can run from the comfort of your own home?
