1. M.A.G.I.C. (Youth Coaching Programme) - with Duncan Gee
This workshop is based upon the M.A.G.I.C. coaching model:

If you have ever wanted to coach children, or coach your own children, then this is a fantastic opportunity to learn a tried and tested course which is already endorsed by several schools and child psychologists. The programme is designed to provide a way for young people to explore their own self-development.
After the workshop you will be able to:
- Use this structured coaching programme with young people
- Use these skills as part of your job if you already work in some
capacity with young people
- Relate better to your own children and help them be more confi dent
and goal-orientated, have improved self-esteem and help them explore
their potential.
When you coach a young person using the M.A.G.I.C. model, they benefit in the following ways:

2. The Practicalities of Youth Coaching – with Harry Singha
The Practicalities of Youth Impact Coaching – What you need to know and do to be an ethical and effective youth impact coach
- Rights of Young people, what you need to know
- Confidentiality, how to communicate what it is, the legalities of what you can offer and not (and why)
- Gaining consent for coaching or assessing for ‘competency to consent to coaching’
- What needs to be recorded and why
- Understanding Child Protection and what to do in any situation
- What legislation and National Youth strategies must you be aware of
- The importance of supervision
- The importance of Criminal Records Checks and your professional duties
- What needs to be covered in the initial session and must be in place before coaching commences
- Ethical boundaries and how to ensure these are respected by both parties.
After this accelerator day, you’ll be equipped with the issues you need to take into account when forming coaching relationships with children…and have a brand new set of coaching methods to add to your toolkit.
3. Parent Coaching – with Lorraine Thomas
This accelerator day has been designed to help improve parenting skills (both yours and your clients’), giving you real, practical tools to use when coaching children and ways to improve relationships between the parent and child.

4. Tuning in to Young People – Effective Communication With Harry Singa

- What do young people want from a ‘youth worker’ and what do they not want!
- Advanced Rapport skills and how to engage with the so called ‘hard to engage” communities
- Understanding Youth Culture, and how to dance with it
- Potential conflicts and how to prevent/overcome them
- Ethical boundaries, how to communicate these effectively and nurture the essential relationship of trust
5. “Goal mapping” for children – Sam the Magic Genie with Brian Mayne
This accelerator day covers “Goal Mapping” for children and uses a central analogy that your subconscious is like a magical genie. It has been used in schools and homes for some years and is accompanied by a workbook, a storybook and a coaches manual.
Goal Mapping is a totally comprehensive, universal, and inclusive approach to setting and achieving targets, aims, goals and objectives.
This particular Goal Mapping programme ‘7 Magic Keys for Success’ has been specifically designed to help students learn the life-long skill of; raising aspirations, setting expectations, and attaining goals.
The programme is in two main parts, 7 Magic Keys for Success and 7 Steps of Goal Mapping.
Part One: 7 Magic Keys for Success
The first part of the programme is designed to teach 7 universal principles of success that act as the foundations for the Goal Mapping technique.
Part Two: 7 Steps of Goal Mapping’
The second part of the programme is in 3 sections – 7 universal rules for goal setting – 7 questions to help the student become clear about what they want - and the 7 steps for creating a Goal Map.
The aims and goals of this programme are to:
- Communicate the importance of setting regular goals
- Share the universal laws of success as an approach to living life
- Help build self-belief and genuine confidence
- Teach and practise the technique of Goal Mapping
- Empower students to produce regular completed Goal Maps with action plans for achievement
6. Youth’s in transition with Pam Lidford
issues faced during transition i.e. from one phase to another - school to uni, living at home to living independently, in addition to the transition of growing up!
Answer questions like:
- Do I leave school or stay on
- Do I go to Uni/college
- What shall I do when I get there
- How will I cope living away
- Taking a gap year
- What job shall I look for.
There will be a focus on decision making, identifying:
- What they are good at
- What they need
- What they enjoy
- Being realistic with themselves
- Having the confidence to make decisions
- Anticipating obstacles
