Tuning in to Young People, Effective Communication
Live training Accelerator Day - with Harry Singha
Do you sometimes feel that young people talk a different language? Is “wicked” good or bad? What anecdotes mean something to young people and what language just doesn’t work?
This enlightening Accelerator Day will help to unravel the mystery of what young people say, mean and do. It will give you the advanced skills you need to communicate effectively as a Youth Impact Coach so that your coaching has a real impact.
Specialist Harry Singha will help you to ‘tune in’ to the voices of young people – to really hear what they say (or don’t say), to understand their feelings and see the world the way they do. You will explore today’s youth culture – its attitudes, pressures, issues, conflicts and demands – and be provided with the information you need to work within it. You’ll discover what young people really need and want from a ‘youth worker’ and what they will not accept and reject. You’ll find out what drives young people and what truly matters to them.
You’ll be equipped with the information you need so that you can work within appropriate boundaries, communicate these effectively, and still nurture the essential relationship of trust with any young person.
During this informative day you’ll also learn advanced rapport skills and techniques so that you are able to engage with almost any young person, even the so-called ‘hard to engage’ groups of young people.
When you complete this invaluable Accelerator Day, you will be able to coach young people in a way they really understand and feel most comfortable with, which in turn will allow you to have the maximum impact.
