Corporate coaches are frequently brought in by large organisations to develop the skills of new or underperforming teams, and to add new drive and focus to well-established and successful ones. Moving an entire team forward in the same direction can be an enormously powerful thing for an organisation. From a coaching point of view there is a real art to facilitating team coaching, and substantial new skills to learn.
In order to develop teams it can be very useful to gain agreement on ground rules and a clear starting point. Your tutor will guide you through the process of defining “how things are done” – teams can seem to disintegrate quite quickly on being asked to explain their own work processes! Achieving consensus on that, and then further consensus on moving forward, can be major breakthroughs.
This training day will also involve you in considering the best ways to set up team coaching, sources of interference in teams, and the complexities of goal setting for larger groups of people.
It is of course crucial when working in the corporate environment to be able to demonstrate added value from the coaching you have done. To round off the day you will examine the ideal way to conduct learning reviews with your client’s team members, and how to measure team progress from the coaching you have given.
