Conflict within organisations is a real concern on a variety of levels. It affects morale and staff turnover, and both the quality and quantity of work can be reduced. In other words, conflict can have a direct effect on a company’s bottom line. The Accelerator Day “Coaching Towards Conflict Resolution” will help you as a corporate coach get to grips with this significant organisational issue.
You will consider typical causes of conflict, symptoms, types and aspects of conflict, and move on to think about different potential outcomes to that conflict. During this training day you will go on to review strategies for coaching through a conflict situation.
Individuals respond to conflict in a number of ways. Some become apathetic or defensive, while some come out fighting. Crucially this part of the Diploma looks at ways of managing different levels of conflict, and how coaches can go about reducing conflict even when it is considerable, and doing real harm to an organisation. Ideally you will be able to find win/win situations, allowing both “sides” in the conflict to move forwards positively.
The area of conflict resolution is a really challenging one both for you as a coach and for your clients. But as so often in life the rewards are just as big as the issues you face!
